How does MedicAlert work?

The Core Of The Service

Your full medical record is at the core of your membership, holding all your medical details.
It can be accessed by first responders via our 24/7 emergency helpline, by quoting your membership number, which is engraved on to your medical ID jewellery along with your most vital information. 

During An Emergency

Medical Professionals Are Prepared

When every moment matters, you may be unable to speak or recall your vital information in a stressful, unexpected situation. Medical professionals are trained to look for medical ID jewellery.

Vital Information On Display

Your jewellery will alert emergency professionals to your most crucial information through the custom-engraving on the back of your disc.

Accessible Additional Information

The engraved membership number and emergency helpline will allow them to retrieve key additional information such as medications, next-of-kin contact info, specialist clinic details or important documents.

Nurse-Checked Records Ensure Accuracy

Thanks to the checks carried out by our registered nurses, risks of error and complications are heavily reduced, ultimately helping you to get back on your feet and back to normality.

MedicAlert membership provides the tools to give you or a loved one peace of mind each and every day, no matter what your medical condition might be:

Medical record checks

You can be sure that the information we provide during an emergency or within your full record is medically sound. Our in-house medical professionals check your record at set up and if it's changed.

During appointments

Your full record is sent to you when you become a member, along with a wallet card. These can be used during doctor or hospital appointments to provide your full medical information in a clear format.

Lost & found

If the member is a loved one with Dementia or Alzheimers, their medical ID will allow their next-of-kin to be contacted if they have become lost or confused.

With you at all times

As a member, you can have as many wallet cards as you wish - keeping a copy in your handbag, car glove box, with your passport or anywhere else you feel may benefit you in an emergency!

At the hospital

During non-emergency hospital stays, your medical ID will alert staff to any special requirements you may have to ensure necessary arrangements are made or you are placed on the correct ward.

Accessories to your record

The more items that point to your record, the safer you will be. In addition to your medical ID, you can buy a number of accessories including wallet cards, helmet tags, tax discs & document holders.

Spare medical ID's

We offer a range of medical ID jewellery starting at just £9.95, allowing you to have an inexpensive back-up item available to protect you, were you to lose or misplace your main medical ID.

Misplaced jewellery

If your medical ID is lost, it's likely that it will make its way back to you. Our emergency line and your membership number are on the reverse, allowing its finder to call us and for us to track you!
